Factory setups general
The Alpha currently ships with 3 factory setups. Each factory setup is progressively more complex than the one before. The setups are still being updated by eigenlabs, with newer releases of EigenD including recently added features for testing.
Each of the factory setups contains a configuration for the entire instrument.
The currently active factory setup can be changed from the main menu in EigenD, under load->factory->alpha:
Selecting a new factory setup causes EigenD to load that setup, which can currently take several minutes to complete.
Each factory setup contains a number of splits, and provides access to the arrangers. Changing between splits and the arrangers is accomplished using the main mode key. Holding down the main mode key causes the whole keypad to light orange briefly, then display a column of lights on the keys immediately above the main mode key. These keys represent the splits and arrangers that are contained within the active factory setup. The active split / arranger will be lit green, while the rest are lit red. Pressing the key for a given split will select the split. The green light changes to the newly selected split, and releasing the main mode key places you in the selected split.
The main mode key is always available, and the contents of each split stay present even when the split is not displayed on the keys. For example this means you can use the main mode key to switch to one of the arrangers, make a drum pattern, and then use the main mode key again to switch back to a different split. The drum pattern keeps looping and you can then play over the top of it.
